Setup

Stand tall with your feet hip-width apart and your knees soft. Hold a wall lightly if you need balance.

Step by step

  1. Tap one heel forward, toes up.
  2. Back to centre, switch legs.
  3. Swing the opposite arm.

Cole's tip

Toes up on every tap and swing the opposite arm. It keeps you tall and makes the move feel like a walk.

Common mistakes

  • Kicking the leg out hard.
  • Leaning back.
  • Standing leg locked.

Make it easier or harder

Easier option

Slower, smaller taps; hold a wall.

Harder option

Faster pace with a punch forward each tap.

 Safety

  • Wear supportive shoes on hard floors.
  • Stop if you feel sharp or joint pain, numbness or tingling, chest pain, dizziness or unusual breathlessness. Effort and muscle burn are normal; pain is not.

If you have an injury or medical condition, check with your doctor before trying a new exercise. This guide is general education, not medical advice.
